I can't believe the time has finally come where I can share my latest project with you: Brunch for the Soul. My last semester in college, I knew I wanted to create a space for women to feel included, appreciated and inspired.
Through my personal work such as writing, modeling and photography, I met so many amazing women. Whether they were creatives or entrepreneurs, I couldn't help but want to bring these fearless women together in one room and at one table.
After I received my bachelor's degree from LSU, I had a little extra time on my hands. Taking full advantage of some lazy time, I started binge-watching cooking shows and documentaries like Cooked, Chef's Table and The Great British Baking Show. After much thought, experimenting in the kitchen and a few epiphanies later, I decided to start a brunch series for women, with a special focus on minority women.
I envisioned an event where women of color and other amazing women could come every other month to catch up, share laughs, eat yummy food, learn something new, feel inspired and be surrounded by other women in their community who genuinely care about them & their well-being.
Life gets hard, ESPECIALLY for women. Why not have a positive experience to look forward to, get dressed up for and be apart of?! (Ugh, I get chills just thinking about it coming to life!)
Well folks, it's here! And it's THIS month. For the First Fall Brunch, Brunch for the Soul will be held at my cute little pink home located in the Beauregard Historic District in Downtown Baton Rouge. Like most of them, the first brunch aims to have an intimate feel and will have 15 seats at the table.
See the details on the flyer below!
Brunch for the Soul is an event by women and for women. With that said, I gotta let you guys know about the awesome #girlboss that made my flyer!
Attire for the event will be fall and boho-chic. Meaning, you can finally break out your cute fall booties, vests, furs, scarves, deep wine, brown and other fall colors out of your closet. I've always had more of a 70s/bohemian/Woodstock style, so now I've finally embraced it! & at this brunch, so can you! Sundresses, flowy bottoms, flower crowns and gorgeous tribal and ethnic prints are also welcome.
Majority of the food will be made my yours truly with the help of a few other local businesses (to be announced soon). (Shout out to God, my mom, Netflix and cooking blogs for providing me with my cooking skills!)
Brunch goodies include: french toast w/ powdered sugar and a fruit glaze, scrambled eggs, bacon, Greek yogurt, muffins, fruit and more!
See you there!
